This concept is called \u201ccarbon neutral\u201d, and it is important to achieve this in the future.<br \/>\r\nIn the field of marine transport, the effort to zero emission is also spreading centering on International Maritime Organization (IMO). <\/p>\r\n                    <p>In order to contribute to international society, we develop technologies and ships which can help reducing the load on the global environment.<br \/>\r\nThese developments are important effort to achieve \u201cEmission reduction of CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u201d,\u201cUtilization of CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u201d,and\u201cUnderground Storage of CO<sub>2<\/sub>\u201d.<\/p>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n            <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sanoyas.skdy.co.jp\/en\/wp-content\/themes\/understrap-child\/img\/child\/technology\/tech_new5_en.png\" width=\"1202\" height=\"671\" alt=\"Emission reduction of CO2\" class=\"img-fluid mt-5 mb-3\" \/>\r\n        <\/section>\r\n        <section>\r\n            <h2 class=\"h1 head color1\">Emission reduction of CO<sub>2<\/sub><\/h2>\r\n            <p>To reduce emission of CO<sub>2<\/sub>, they are important issues that development of eco-friendly ships such as good fuel efficiency and alternative fuel solutions better than existing heavy fuel oils.<br \/>\r\n                Our approaches to engagement with the above is as followings.<\/p>\r\n\r\n            <h3 class=\"mt-5 head color1\">&#9312;&nbsp;Development of energy saving hull form and devices by simulation technologies<\/h3>\r\n            <p>We develop optimized hull form for efficient propulsions and energy saving devices using the numeric simulation technologies. Their energy saving performance can be estimated with numeric models defined by CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) readily. A feedback from tank test using actual model make estimation accuracy improved.<\/p>\r\n            <p>Our patented energy saving devices is introduced in followings.<\/p>\r\n            <div class=\"row\">\r\n                <div class=\"col-md-5\">\r\n                    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sanoyas.skdy.co.jp\/en\/wp-content\/themes\/understrap-child\/img\/child\/technology\/tech_3.jpg\" alt=\"energy-saving device 2\" width=\"960\" height=\"675\" class=\"img-fluid mb-3\" \/>\r\n                    <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.sanoyas.skdy.co.jp\/en\/wp-content\/themes\/understrap-child\/img\/child\/technology\/tech_2.jpg\" alt=\"energy-saving device\" width=\"2048\" height=\"1536\" class=\"img-fluid mb-3\" \/>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n                <div class=\"col-md-7\">\r\n                    <p>We have developed an epoch-making energy-saving device called \u201cSTF\u201d(patent in May, 2006) and \u201cACE DUCT\u201d (patent in November, 2017).<\/p>\r\n                    <p>STF (Sanoyas Tandem Fin) consists of two or three pairs of flat-plate fins: one is attached in front of a propeller and the other on an afterpart shell ahead of it. The \u201cSTF\u201d has a remarkable effect for reduction of the ship\u2019s resistance and improvement of the propulsion efficiency by controlling bilge vortex occurring in flow around the afterpart body.<\/p>\r\n                    <p>ACE DUCT (Sanoyas Advanced flow Controlling and Energy saving DUCT) is set relatively lower than general ducts, and it adjusts the water current of the propeller through the devising of a horizontal strut shape.<\/p>\r\n                    <p>This made it possible to lower propeller cavitation risk and accomplish improvement of propulsive efficiency.<\/p>\r\n                    <p>By combining an energy-saving device such as \u201cSTF\u201d and  \u201cACE DUCT\u201d and equipping with it, it will be possible to reach approximately 8% reduction of fuel consumption.<\/p>\r\n                    <p>In recent years, with a background of environmental regulations getting strengthened including GHG emission abatement, an even higher level of energy-saving efforts are required.<\/p>\r\n                    <p>We will keep focusing on research and development in order to boost our competitiveness in the field of energy-saving technology.<\/p>\r\n                <\/div>\r\n            <\/div>\r\n\r\n            <h3 class=\"mt-5 head color1\">&#9313;&nbsp;Evaluation and Improvement of Ship Performance in Actual Seas<\/h3>\r\n            <div class=\"row mb-3\">\r\n                <div class=\"col-md-6\">\r\n                    <p>We are taking various actions for development of improved propulsion efficiency and low fuel performance ship in actual <p>The transformation of digital technology is spreading rapidly every part of the world.<br \/>\r\n                We analyze the ship\u2019s movement data such as AIS(Automatic Identification System) to develop our new design ships, and the monitoring system is installed on our latest design ships to accumulate their data.<br \/>\r\n                By analyzing big data, we not only try to understand the ship\u2019s propulsion performance at the actual sea, but also feedback them to the hull form development of Next-generation Ship.<br \/>\r\n                We think that there are various possibilities for application big data, and we will continue to expand the scope of utilization. <\/p>\r\n            \r\n            <div class=\"row my-3 d-flex justify-content-center\">\r\n Principle\uff08AiP\uff09from ClassNK for the design of a LNG fueled new Wood Chip Carrier.<br \/>\r\n                The vessel can improve the Energy Efficiency Design Index\uff08EEDI\uff09by more than 40%, and we are confident that the design will contribute to achieving IMO Strategy on reduction of GHG emissions from ships, setting out a vision to reduce the total annual GHG emissions by at least 50% by 2050 compared to 2008.<br \/>\r\n                We will exercise outstanding technological capabilities and project execution capabilities that are both outstanding in caliber and integrity, in its effort to keep in step with the continuing changes of the times and to deliver products that win recognition not only from its customers but also for environmental FGSS for LNG fueled vessels making use of extensive knowledge and long experience of LPG tank and obtained \u201cApproval in Principle\uff08AiP\uff09\u201dfrom ClassNK and ABS. And the first \u2013made product has already manufactured and delivered to the Owner. FGSS is expected to develop greatly in order to be used for various kind of ships. We will contribute to achieve utilization of CO<sub>2<\/sub> through marine transportation.<\/p>\r\n            <h3 class=\"mt-5 head color2\">&#9316;&nbsp;Taking part in \u201cShip Carbon Recycling Working Group\u201d of Japan\u2019s of Carbon Capture &#038; Reuse Study Group<\/h3>\r\n            <p>We can get carbon recycled methane by reacting hydrogen with CO<sub>2<\/sub> which is captured from industrial plant. If we use it as fuel, actual emission of CO<sub>2<\/sub> is considered as zero. However, there is many issues: reduction of CO<sub>2<\/sub> emission at the process of producing fuel, economic efficiency on the market, etc. We are taking part \u201cShip Carbon Recycling Working Group\u201d of Japan\u2019s Carbon Capture &#038; Reuse Study Group and researching about ship transportation of CO<sub>2<\/sub> to solve these issues.<\/p>\r\n        <\/section>\r\n        <section>\r\n            <h2 class=\"h1 head color3\">Underground Storage of CO<sub>2<\/sub><\/h2>\r\n            <p>If CO<sub>2<\/sub> from industrial plant is captured and injected into the ground, the amount of CO<sub>2<\/sub> in the atmosphere will decrease. This concept and technology are called &#8220;CCS(Carbon Capture and Storage)&#8221;. We will contribute to achieve CCS by developing technology of CO<sub>2<\/sub> ship transport.<\/p>\r\n            <h3 class=\"mt-5 head color3\">&#9317;&nbsp;Development of CO<sub>2<\/sub> carrier<\/h3>\r\n            <p>If we store CO<sub>2<\/sub> in underground, we have to transport the liquefied CO<sub>2<\/sub> and inject it into underground.<br \/>\r\n                We have obtained Approval in Principle\uff08AiP\uff09from ClassNK for the design of &#8220;CO<sub>2<\/sub> carrier(Injection Facility Ready)&#8221;. This vessel has CO<sub>2<\/sub> tanks and secures the space for CO<sub>2<\/sub> injection system, so this vessel can be added CO<sub>2<\/sub> injection system later.
